Situated one hour from Hangzhou near Lin’An is the little town of Zaoxi. Walk along a
tranquil rural road with the backdrop of high bamboo forested mountains you
will come to a path that leads to Guang
Jue Temple.
This temple dating from the Qing Dynasty under the direction of the Venerable
Zheng Rong is a haven of tranquility and spirituality in the Pure Land Buddhist
tradition.It is a place to come and learn
and practise Meditation in the Pure Land tradition, a place to re-discover yourself, a place to find healing

Simple but comfortable accommodation
Staying in a temple monastery is a special experience.
The accommodation is simple but clean and comfortable. Meals are vegetarian
from food all grown fresh at the monastery.

A Place for the Weary or Searching Traveller
Chinese Buddhism is rich in
cultural heritage. Introduced to China in the first century Buddhism spread from India taking on a distinctive form in China. Not far from Guang
Jue Temple
at Tian Mu Shan Pure Land Buddhism was introduced to Japanese monks who
established Buddhism in Japan.
Many travellers are searching
for something. The heavy baggage is often clinging on. A detour to a temple
stay at Guang Jue could be a place to find something deeper and more meaningful
on the journey. You are welcome to stop a while and chat, learn to meditate in
the Pure Land tradition and maybe even leave some
heavy baggage behind.

Tianmushan, the World Heritage National Park
and the famous Chuanyue
Temple where the Japanese
Linji sect originated. Other attractions are lunch and tea visits to local
villages.
