Guang Jue Monastery China
Guang Jue monastery is a small rural monastery
in a mountain area near Lin’an – Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province. Our teacher the
Venerable Zheng Rong has devoted his life to rebuilding the temple after ruin
in 1963.. This has been a very difficult task as it is in a poor area. In 2009 our teacher Zhi Sheng (Malcolm Hunt) began a
retreat program for people visiting or working in China to bring them the benefits of the Dharma teaching Pure Land Buddhism, Meditation, Mindfulness and Naikan and helping many through personal life issues. Since 2009 a total of
12 nations have been represented – UK, USA, Canada, Australia, France, Germany,
Italy, Holland, South Africa, India, Japan, Sweden and China. This small monastery has been a focus for
peace and harmony for so many. All this work including maintaining our web site
is done voluntarily.
This is highly important work promoting
international peace and harmony amongst nations hosted in China.
Zhi Sheng has often worked odd jobs in
Australia to enable him to travel, teach and facilitate Peace Building retreats.
These retreats have
benefited so many people but we can no longer keep them going beyond June 2011 unless we receive urgent
donation or sponsorship. Please help us.
Peace Pond Sanctuary
This is a major project of our monastery.
Master Zheng Rong has identified many precious species of wild life in the
region being killed through carelessness and purposeful killing. Our streams used to be full of turtles and
fish. They are now rare. There used to be many species of birds. They
are becoming extinct due to the destruction of natural forests. With this many species of butterflies have
become almost extinct. Master Zheng Rong
makes an urgent plea to save these species which will find a home in the Peace
and Sanctuary Pond. When we destroy our
natural environment we destroy part of ourselves. We are all interconnected. Master Zheng Rong identifies many of the
world’s natural disasters as the result of destructive, violent and greedy
causes. When we save and protect even
the smallest of sentient beings we create pure Karma and change the course of
our destiny.
We need $25,000 to
complete the project. This will include a magnificent statue of Kuan Yin in the centre of the lotus pond.
Please help us
continue the spreading of the seeds of Dharma, Peace and Harmony by donating.
No matter how small, it all helps. Thank you for your kindness.
