MINDFULNESS TRAINING
Mindfulness is a way of life. It is a Buddhist way of life; it can also be a way of life that all can live. It is not just a philosophical or pie-in-the sky thing. It is a tangible practical way of living life.
We say it is a way of living life. What then is this “life” we speak about?
Shakyamuni Buddha stated “Life is suffering”. This is the first of the four noble truths Though we may have many times that life seems happy and smooth the fact remains that life is punctuated by suffering – birth, sickness, aging, death and the myriads of worries, frustrations, stresses fears and anxieties that exist in between.
The Buddha also gave us a way out of suffering. In brief, that way out is living the Mindful life as outlined in the Eightfold Path.
Mindfulness is the art of living with compassion and beauty. Pureland Buddhism is steeped in this art. In fact Buddhism was the first human psychology. It is a life education.
T’ai Shen Mindfulness Training is a journey in learning the skills to live a fulfilling and enriching life. It is about waking up and being fully present to the vitality of life.

What makes this training so special?
There is an old Chinese saying: "Give a person instruction and they will become learned. Give them an experience and they become Masters." Mindfulness Training in Zaoxi is a complete experience in using the skills that are taught. In a very different and remote environment we are virtually forced to master the skills and experience the results first hand. It is as if the Bodhisattva's surprise us with each turn in the mountain road with a new lesson and experience. No one returns to their home country untouched or unchanged in some way.
