The butterfly is perhaps worldwide a symbol for transformation. There is in each of us a spirit of peace and compassion. This is our Buddha nature. When we allow this to come forth from us it is like a butterfly breaking out of its chrysalis to display its unique colour and nature. It is the beauty of true and abiding happiness.

The story of San Qi is a powerful story and one that must be told and retold, for it is in the telling of the story and its receptive hearing that opens the door of our heart to see the possibilities of transformation within ourselves. When we hear or read the story of San Qi and the Peace Butterflies something immediately happens within us. Our potential is awakened. Our potential for compassion and joy.

The Story lives by being shared

I first heard the story of the Peace Butterfly from a poor Chinese farming family near Tian Mu Shan in Zhejiang Province. The grandmother had heard it from a traditional Chinese Story Teller. It is not known if it is "true" but there is great "truth" in it. Wu said it was sad that the story was discontinued being passed on. He said it had great power.You will find this if you look carefully.

It is a story of Peace. It is a story of transformation. It is my mission to keep it alive and from it give disadvantaged rural children an opportunity to education.

Kindness and Wish Cards are Catching

A Kindness Card or Wish Card is a special way of spreading a kind thought and action. Cards come in packs of 10.

Not only will you be giving a kind thought and action but you will be assisting the T'ai Shen Pure Land Centre continue education programs for poor rural Chinese children in Zhejiang province.

Each card is hand made with a Peace Butterfly carefully folded from Chiyogami wood-block printed paper with hand painted Chinese calligraphy. The cards come with the story of the Peace Butterfly. Give them randomly and sow seeds of peace and happiness.
